Joining Our Forest School Community
Choosing the right learning environment is an important decision. We invite you to get to know our community, meet our educators, explore our beautiful outdoor classroom, and discover whether Barefoot Bushcraft Forest School is the right fit for your family.
We believe choosing your childs forest school should be personal, thoughtful, and welcoming—not stressful. Rather than simply enrolling students, we take time to get to know each child and family. Every child brings unique strengths, interests, experiences, and ways of learning. Our goal is to build relationships before the first day of Forest School, creating a strong foundation for a successful and meaningful educational journey.
Our Admissions Philosophy

Children aren’t all meant to learn in exactly the same way, and we don’t expect them to. Some children love climbing trees. Others prefer watching birds or discovering insects beneath a log. Some ask endless questions, while others learn by listening and observing. At Barefoot Bushcraft Forest School, we celebrate those differences and create opportunities for every child to thrive through curiosity, exploration, community, and meaningful relationships.

Tuition
📚 What’s Included
Your child’s tuition includes far more than time spent outdoors. Every student receives access to all learning materials, bushcraft and nature equipment, archery equipment, seasonal activities, and guided outdoor experiences. There are no surprise equipment fees—just come dressed for the weather and ready to explore.
🤝 Becoming Part of Our Community
When you enrol at Barefoot Bushcraft Forest School, you’re joining more than a program. You’ll become part of a welcoming community of children, families, and educators who share a love of learning, nature, and one another. We encourage parents to participate in special events, seasonal celebrations, and community gatherings throughout the year.
More Than Enrollment
Joining Barefoot Bushcraft Forest School means becoming part of a caring community of children, families, and educators who share a love of learning, nature, and one another. We look forward to welcoming you around the campfire.
🎒 What To Bring
Children simply need weather-appropriate clothing, sturdy footwear (or bare feet if your family chooses!), a healthy lunch, snacks, and a sense of adventure. We provide the learning materials, outdoor equipment, and opportunities for discovery.
🫂 We Use Brightwheel
Brightwheel is our secure parent communication and classroom app. Through Brightwheel, you’ll receive photos and updates from your child’s day, communicate directly with educators, complete forms, view important announcements, and manage billing—all in one easy-to-use place. It helps keep families connected to their child’s Forest School experience every step of the way.
Parents Ask
Not at all. While the Barefoot Bushcraft name reflects connecting with nature, every child is free to wear whatever footwear they and their family feel is appropriate. Some children love feeling the grass between their toes on a warm summer day, while others are happiest in sturdy hiking boots—and both are equally welcome. Our goal isn’t bare feet; it’s helping children develop a meaningful connection with nature in a way that feels safe, comfortable, and joyful. There are several indoor areas where we will ask for no shoes.
No. We understand that every family has different needs and schedules. Children can attend anywhere from one to five days per week, allowing families to choose the rhythm that works best for them. Whether your child joins us one day or every day, they’ll become a valued part of our Forest School community.
Yes—but not in all conditions. Forest School takes place in every season, because each season offers its own opportunities for learning and discovery. During rain, children continue to enjoy the outdoors from our large covered pavilion and spacious outdoor learning tent. When the weather becomes severe or temperatures are unsafe, we move into our large climate-controlled indoor learning space. Our goal is to help children build a lifelong connection with nature while keeping them safe, comfortable, and excited to learn every day.
